Eleanor Cade Busby has published two books of poetry. During Poetry Month she published Just North of Ordinary Tides

Following is Eleanor’s intro. to Just North of Ordinary Tides:

What lives just beyond the expected... just past the shoreline of ordinary life?

In this deeply personal and vividly rendered collection, Eleanor Cade Busby invites readers into a world shaped by memory, love, loss, justice, and the wild, untamable spirit of Maine. From the wonder of childhood to the ache of grief, from quiet moments by the river to fierce calls for change, these poems move like tides, sometimes gentle, sometimes crashing, always pulling us somewhere true.

Rising Light: Poems of Protest & Passion

Rising Light: Poems of Protest & Passion

In March, Eleanor published Rising Light: Poems of Protest & Passion

In a time when looking away is easier than looking closely, these poems ask us to pause and witness.

Rising Light gathers poems of conscience, memory, and resistance. From quiet moments of grief to sharp satire aimed at power, Eleanor Cade Busby writes with a voice that refuses silence.

These poems confront injustice, remember those who have suffered unseen, and celebrate the stubborn endurance of hope. They speak for the vulnerable, challenge the powerful, and honor the courage of ordinary people who refuse to surrender their humanity.

Jean Feldeisen

South Jersey Sand: A Memoir in Poetry

Margin Release
South Jersey Sand

Jean Feldeisen has published her first full poetry collection South Jersey Sand: A Memoir in Poetry, released by Kelsay Books. She says “This book is a story of journeys and paths, of traveling and staying put – of what makes a place your home. It is also about my ancestors, my childhood and growth into adulthood, and my move to Maine at age 50, including all the grief and loss involved in the telling. It is a trip home that teaches me what home was really all about.”

She adds “It also engages in a few rants about the environmental devastation in southern New Jersey caused by commercial interests that are not sympathetic to wildlife and the wildlife‑loving humans who call South Jersey home.”

Jean also wanted to share the following review:

“Dig deeper,” says Jean Feldeisen, and in this book, she does exactly that, excavating the sands around her South Jersey roots to find a writing of richness and capacity. With meticulous attention to both the forms of poetry and the truths of feeling, she gives us an archaeology of family history, intense gleams of childhood, shards of love and parenting, and a trove of wrenching but cathartic loss and elegy. Readers will leave the book knowing that they’ve held a precious vessel, overflowing with life. ~ Brian Evans‑Jones, former Poet Laureate of Hampshire, UK, and winner of the Maureen Egan Award from Poets & Writers magazine.

Please visit Jean’s website for more information about her work and her poetry. You can buy South Jersey Sand: A Memoir in Poetry at Kelsay Books and Amazon.

Also, Jean says “If you’d like an autographed copy of South Jersey Sand, drop me a line at empowermepeople@gmail.com. Figure out how to get $28 to me (I accept Venmo and Paypal as well as checks). South Jersey Sand retails for $23 plus S&H $5. I will include a copy of my chapbook, Not All Are Weeping, to the first twenty people who ask. (I see no point in poetry malingering in a box under my desk.)

“The Wonder of Birds”

Ellen Goldsmith has written to say “I’m delighted to announce my first full length poetry collection published by Kelsay Books. Its title is Are We There Yet? Don’t we all have so many questions these days? For me, and probably you too, writing poems and then arranging them into a book is a way to make sense of the internal and external.”

Ellen also sent the following excerpts from endorsements on the back cover.

The poems in Are We There Yet? are sharply focused and full of wonder. Like a Zen rabbi Goldsmith conveys both mystery and wit, using a light touch, achieving great beauty in brevity. The poems are agile, adept at leaping. ~ Betsy Sholl

This collection speaks with quiet wondering about life’s uncertainties and listens with a respect for those moments that lure us toward love’s unexpected yield. The poems invite us to gaze upon ordinary things and find–as she shares in a gem of a one‑lined poem–that “Waiting / isn’t a room. It’s the whole house.” ~ Mark Burrows

Imbued with precise language and apt image‑making, Goldsmith’s collection quietly and painstakingly reveals the truth that “Life [is] a gift we wrap and unwrap.” ~  Mary Brancaccio

At the end of her email Ellen says ”I hope you’ll purchase a copy and read the poems” and she also sent us an easy‑to‑use MS Word doc order form to post for readers who would like Ellen to send them an inscribed, signed copy of Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet?  is also available on Amazon.

I’m taking my time reading these passages. To pay honor and respect to the words and the vivid picture they paint, I read only one at a time. Each gives me a sense of belonging and understanding. Although my experiences may differ, the depth and realization of common feelings are clear. Thank you for putting words to print to help me understand more.
